Some authors use a fixed amount of LPS injected into mice, others adjust the injected LPS dose to the mouse weight. With "high" doses that saturate the immune system it should be irrelevant if a fixed or per-body-weight dose is used (in acute responses; max 24h). But when injecting doses below the saturation level, LPS distribution in the body, number of immune cells etc should matter. But how is this correlated with body weight? By injecting a certain dose per g of mouse one assumes a linear relationship, but has that ever been tested?

Are there any - even very old - publications about this? I have searched pubmed but seem to use the wrong search terms. Or the data is "hidden" under an unrelated title.
