How do I keep termites alive in a Petri dish for up to a week in the laboratory without them dying? I need to isolate some bacteria from the gut of termites after feeding them on paper for a week, but the termites keep dying after a day. I fed them with filter paper, tissue paper and even wood the last time but they still die. I even removed them from the lab and put them outside at room temperature but this didn't help either. Please can anyone advise me on how to prevent them from dying for a week?
