Hi, fellow researchers. We currently use JC-1 dye in the lab, but we have problems with the dye (2 uM) flaking out of aqueous buffers. I found JC-10 online, and companies state this dye is better in aqueous buffers, and from what I read, it seems to behave similarly to JC-1. We currently use JC-1 dye to measure membrane potential levels and this subsequent change with additions of uncouplers. We want to confirm that JC-10 would function like JC-1 and allow us to analyze this.
Has anyone had any experience with JC-1 flaking out, and how did you fix this?
Has anyone have experience with JC-10 instead of JC-1, or both?
Finally, I also saw something about JC-9. Does anyone know about this dye?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
