Hello,

I plan to differentiate macrophages from rat bone marrow cells with 10 ng/ml M-CSF (in DMEM high glucose, 10% FBS, 1% Pen-Strep). My question would be: once the cells are differentiated (around day 7), can I remove the M-CSF from the medium? Or should I keep the M-CSF throughout the full experiment (around 14 days)? Will the macrophages maintain their phenotype and stay viable over 14 days if I remove M-CSF?

Thank you.
