Isolating protein-bound RNAs with a density gradient ?

Does anyone have experience isolating protein-bound RNAs from circulation using a density gradient? (Optiprep, sucrose, etc.) What's the chance of interaction between the protein & the RNA being disturbed due to Optiprep/long time of centrifugation at 4C (18-24hours)? Do people add proteinase inhibitors to the entire gradient to inhibit the dissociation of protein-RNA complex?
