I'm working with a cell line from ATCC (CRL-2398) that requires the use of D-valine modified medium to avoid fibroblast growth. They suggest the following growth medium:

"1:1 mixture of Ham's F12 and Eagle's Minimal Essential medium with Earle's BSS (D-valine modification) with 1.5 mM L-glutamine adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate supplemented with 0.034 g/L D-valine, 10% heat-inactivated fetal bovine serum and 10% heat-inactivated horse serum".

If I understand correctly, both Ham's F12 and EMEM should contain D-Valine instead of L-Valine. Therefore, D-valine modification.

However, ATCC suggest as a complement for this cell line the use of Ham's F12 that contains L-Valine (30-2004). Searching on the web, I could not find any provider producing Ham's with only D-Valine and without L-valine.

Has anyone had experience with D-Valine modified media or know of a provider for Hams' F12 without L-Valine?
