Hi Rasmus K. Storm, for descriptive statistics, you could try with command (module to create high-quality tables in MS Word from Stata output). In the case of pie charts, histograms and other figures you can export it as PNG to your work folder and then you can automate your report using LaTeX, or Visual Basic (in case of MS Word).

If the graphs are related to each others, you can use graph combine. Foreach loop for looping over different variables. Try parmby command if you are trying to extract estimates from many regression models (e.g. linear or logistic regression models) with 95% CI and p values. These will be stored in a separate dataset from which you can create Figures. It all depends on what you are trying to do.

However, producing good looking graphs, histograms or piecharts from data often entails that I have to copy data into excel and use the templates there to make them fit a given graphical look in a report or a paper. Using the outreg2 command (and some extra code) works well for tables because it spits them out in APA style directly in MS Word. I am looking for something similar for other types of output. But all the tips provided above are helpful. I will experiment a bit to find a decent solution (-:

I use estout/esttab for tables. For graphs, save them into a file MS Word can manage well (wmf, emf, jpj, etc.) using graph export.

"asdoc" is a useful command in Stata. Especially, It is very convenient that it offers the opportunity to select the columns in summaries. Detailed information can be obtained using the "help asdoc" code.

I used outreg2 and asdoc both. The asdoc is more useful command.

please click Cont+A to Copy the Stata results, and Save it as Text Document the whole results including Tables will appear as it is in a text file.

Please consider the following commands as useful tool

1. asdoc

2.outreg2

3. Save as option for figures (Save the graph and then export it as a "graph.tif" for better resolution graphs)

Thank you Puguh! Down the same line: I can recommend the putexcel command also exporting output to excel. I find it easier to make good figures from descriptive data when exported to excel because I have several templates that can be applied to data afterwards.
