While working with Leishmania donovani , I got to know that it is grown in non-vented culture flasks with M199 media (as preferred in my lab) and kept in BOD incubators. Some researchers also prefer RPMI over M199 or Vented flasks over non-vented flasks. Although the choice and composition of Media plays an important role in deciding the type of culture flasks and incubators being used for the growth of parasites, but is there any rule/mention in the literature that which parasites should be grown in which type of flasks and incubators used for the same?
