Currently we are using two different media (TSA and SDA) to determinate TAMC and TYMC. We would like to use only one medium and later on distinguish between bacteria and yeast (molds can be distinguish by morfology.) Is there any cheap and easy method to distinguish between bacteria and yeast on plates? I know it is possible to do it with microscopy . However, is there anything else? Maybe some reagent that react with yeast cell wall resulting in change in color?

Thanks for all the answers!
