Currently I am modelling uniaxial tapered specimen undergoing forward creep test. I am solving this as a contact problem where 2 pins are pulling the specimen (1 pulling and other is stationery). Due to non-linear nature of this problem, it takes incredibly long times to converge.
Ideally I would avoid modelling this relatively simple case as a contact problem. Therefore, is there any easy way how to apply pressure load in 1 direction only ? I have tried applying pressure load on the surface and constraining the surface in all other directions apart from y-direction. Is there any "better" way?
