Hello Everyone,

I have a data set which is heavily skewed with outliers. Please see the png attached for the distribution of the data.

I am comparing performance of multiple groups to a control group, and for this median would be a better central tendency estimator than mean.

My Question is, how am I able to construct a A point estimate for the difference in two population means? for the point estimate I can take the difference between the medians, however I am a bit confused how I can calculate the Margin of error. Using Mann-whitneys U I can calculate the z-score so can I use the same procedure as when doing CI for normal distribution so Margin of error = z*standard deviation?

Looking forward to all the responses.
