More specifically - I'm looking for something that will:

  • construct an approximate 3D model of the nucleus and surrounding mitochondrial network from the stack of 2D images (where the nucleus and mitochondria have been fluorescently labeled)
  • identify the center of the nucleus in the 3D model
  • and finally calculate the average distance from that center point to the end of each chain of mitochondria in the network.
  • If you know of any tools that will do this or any ImageJ tutorials that might help - I would really appreciate it! Alternatively - if there are other ways of quantifying mitochondrial branchedness, please let me know!
