In our Lab we are trying this meristem tissue culture technique for potato virus elimination, we are using binocular microscope and we have realized it is time consuming and more likely ineffective since it’s hard to know whether we have the true meristem we are looking for.

Recently, it has been demonstrated that plant viruses could be effectively eradicated by cryotherapy of shoot tips. See attached published papers.
