Your macrographs are not clear, however, the culture look like Fusarium spp. and the same time Colletotrichum spp.

The photos are not clear, it looks like you have more than one species, maybe Fusarium and Cladosporium.

As the gross as well as microscopic photographs are not clear, it will be difficult to give correct opinion.You can again try to study the microscopic morphology of cultural isolate in PHOL (Pal et al., 1990) or Narayan stain (Pal,1998), which are developed by us.Both our papers are uploaded at the Research Gate.

I think this is Fusarium because colonies of Fusarium is appearing in pink colour and spores are slightly curved .It contains two types of spores -micro and macroconidia

In my opinion, this is Fusarium sp. and possibly Fusarium roseum. It's difficult to say, but it's Fusarium sp. I highly suggest this book "Atlas of clinically important fungi" because it is quite useful.

I would not attempt to identify this, or any other fungus, solely on the basis of photos of cultures or micrographs. Your query has already got 5 different generic 'identifications' - which one will you choose? There is no short route to identifying many fungi - I'm afraid you have to do the work :- (

As @Michael Richardson mentioned it does not make sense to identify a fungus only on the basis of a figure, and this will never work for identifying fungi at the species level (just as you did or others recommended) or even, in many cases, at the generic level. My recommendation is: to simply amplify and sequence a universal genomic region like ITS-rDNA or so to molecular identification of the fungus. Then, you may see its morphological characters in detail and compare them to the original description of that name. Plus, you can use some other suitable genomic regions to reinforce the identification!

I agree with Michael Richardson and Alireza Poursafar but the resources I have at the moment they can not allow me to processed to molecular identification of these isolates. You are suggestions are very commendable though.

@Leonce Dusengemungu. I'm an 80+ year-old biologist, so never had the benefit of molecular techniques. Without them it is still possible with conventional morphological and microscopical techniques, the proper training and the literature, to identify the majority of fungi you will encounter. There are no short cuts!

Yes definitely conventional method of identification of lower fungi (Deuteromycetes) are very good and logical, because the colour of colonies and spores size and shape are unique in different species. Manual and reference books are required for that.One good book for Aspergillus so. identification is -Manual of Aspergilli by Thom& Raper

As I think, these colonies not belong to the fungus Aspergillus. The colony of Aspergillus fumigatus is not white, but it's greenish blue. So, I think that this colony may be belong to the fungus Fusarium spp. more than to the fungus Aspergillus.

Also, the conidia which appear in the picture belong to the fungus Fusarium sp. They may be micro or macrocondia of the fungus Fusarium. Fusarium produce three types of conidia viz microconidia, macroconidia and chlamydospres.

Perhaps there should be a moderator system to decide when a question has come to the end of its usefulness, or the site is being abused? It seems to me that simple, often multiple, responses, are nothing more than an attempt to inflate a profile - I doubt if anybody takes any notice of, or is impressed by, how many questions have been answered by, or how many certificates of attendance a ResearchGate contributor has.

This is not belonging Aspergillus fischeri/ Aspergillus fumigatus.

It seems to belong to the Fusarium species. For proper identification, it is recommended to use the molecular methods on the Transcription elongation factor 1 alpha (TEF) gene.

Fusarium spp. produce spores with one or two cells called microconidia. They are found with ovoid, spherical, cylindrical or elongated shapes. While the macroconidia are elongated, with 3-7 or more cells and take different shapes like falcate, sickle, boat or lunate.

The third type of spores which produce by the fungus Fusarium is chlamydospores which are mostly spherical with one, two, three or more thick wall cells. The produced in the tip of hypha or within the hypha.
