With the advent of newer technologies, no techniques remain new in any field; Ophthalmology/Optometry is not an exception. With superior diagnostic tools in trends, older techniques are being less used. So, academic, clinical and research development in eye care will definitely make in-vivo confocal microscopy (IVCM) a routine test in evaluating corneal nerve health very soon in developed countries; but will take time in developing countries.
Yes, but its cost might make the time early or late. Cost effectivity can make it happens soon.
