Dear researchers,

I am currently analysing the energy system of an island micro-grid. In order to evaluate different future scenarios for energy generation, I would like to use the energy trilemma index, which considers energy security, equity and sustainability, as well as the country context. As the index has been critizised as unreliable before and furthermore very dependent on country context and objectives, I want to slightly adapt it and change the weightings according to the aims of my case study region.

However, I did not find a detailed methodology of how the World Energy Council actually calculates or evaluates the different criteria within the three main aspects (e.g. import dependency, energy storage, affordability etc.).

Therefore, I am having trouble to actually evaluate my scenarios based upon these values.

Did the World Energy Council actually not provide any methods for their numbers and decision makers trust them anyway or am I missing something obvious?
