Hi,

I'm currently using Polyvinylalcohol-films as a matrix for stretching ellipsoidal particles, similar like in Article Preparation of monodisperse ellipsoidal polystyrene particles

For this process it is important to not thermally crosslink the polymer matrix.

If I want to stretch more heat resistant particles I need higher temperatures than the PVA allows.

Are there any other water soluble polymers that can withstand say 150°C for a reasonable time without crosslinking? PEG? PAM?

Are there any additives that inhibit thermal crosslinking in PVA?

Thank you
