I wanted to check cells viabilty in S. cerevisiae using MTT assay. Can anyone has use MTT assay for this purpose in yeast ?
Thak you in advance !!
Dear Shambhu,
Yes, you can use MTT assay in S. cerevisiae. Don't get me wrong, i am happy to help but, with a quick research on pubmed or even google, you are able to find an answer to this question. Waiting for you question to get answered might waste your time.
Best wishes.
MTT is based on succinate dehydrogenase present in mitochondria of cells. Upon addition of MTT reagent this is convreted into formazon crystal.
If S. cerevisiae has this enzyme. Yes you can use MTT no problem.
Take help from protocol.
Dear Arda
Thank you for suggestion .
Actually, I did googling and pubmed search but I did not get proper answer.
Dear Tariq
Thank you for sharing MTT assay protocol.
Hi Shambhu Yadav,
Did your MTT assay work in S. cerevisiae?
