Mitomycin C injection done during trabeculectomy is usually done at the initial stage of the procedure before the conjunctival incision; however it is washed off when the incision is opened. This may make the dose given variable and thus affect its efficacy. Would it not be better to inject the drug at the end of the procedure so the full dosage can be maximized without being washed off (we usually make very tight releasable sutures)
