"Furthermore, although KDR/flk-1 (VEGFR2) is a cell surface marker of populations containing murine hemangioblasts, it appears to be less specific for specifying rare hemangioblasts in human tissues, and is expressed abundantly in a majority of differentiating hEB cells, as well as during normal human embryonic development (Carpenter et al., 2003; Kennedy et al., 2007; Zambidis et al., 2008)."

Why did the paper "Wnt signaling controls the specification of definitive and primitive hematopoiesis from human pluripotent stem cells" using KDR to define hemangioblastic?

I am new in blood development, so many things confused me^^^^oh my god!
