Untrue, patients above the age of 75 usually presenting with warning signs like weight loss, anemia, change in bowel habits still get diagnostic colonoscopies and can still have colon cancer. it might be true in special occasions when patients are unfit for any procedure or have advanced or terminal illness or refuse to get a colonoscopy so sometimes its a shared decision making.
