I have to use some element and node sets in the Abaqus subroutine which already are defined in the model. Anybody can help me how can I do that please?
In the case of UVARM and USDFLD you can assign to the set a material with a special name and use the CMNAME input variable to define a particular behaviour for the elements of that set.

Many thanks Federico for your answer. Is there any sample or tutorial available for using CMNAME in the UVARM subroutine? I have tried to find out how can use CMNAME in the Abaqus documentation, but I could not find. Many thanks again for your help.
I usually use the CMNAME variable in UMAT but I think it should be almost the same thing. In order to use it you should declare it as:
CHARACTER(LEN=N):: CMNAME
where N is the number of characters that you use to call your materials.
For example if you have 2 material MAT-1 and SET-MAT you can assign N=5 (number of characters for the shortest material name).
After that in your subroutine should insert:
IF (CMNAME.EQ.'MAT-1') THEN
call MAT-1-SUBROUTINE("subroutine variables MAT-1")
ELSE IF (CMNAME.EQ.'SET-M') THEN
call SET-MAT-SUBROUTINE("subroutine variables SET-MAT")
END IF
where MAT-1-SUBROUTINE and SET-MAT-SUBROUTINE are your UVARM or USDFLD for each material.
