I am working on a project in which Young's modulus is changed during Abaqus simulation. Actually, the soft material with the value of 1/10 of initial Young's modulus should be used for the elements which pass the yield stress. After changing the material from initial to the soft one, the simulation does not converge because of the high difference between the stress values. Anybody can help me how can I solve this problem?

If your elements suddenly lose stifness, you have to make sure that a solution actually does exist (can the structure still bear the load?). If your problem is load-controlled, switch to displacement control.
You might also want to ramp down Young's modulus over several increments instead of doing an abrupt change.
