You could use retinoic acid to induce differentiation and neurite outgrowths, low serum would slow down cell division.

U can use RA as reported before...or switch to PC12 cells and differentiate them with NGF 50 ng/ml...very nice cells, cholinergic neuron like morphology and features..

Thanks all.. But my intention was, what if I use only low serum concentration with out RA. How would it differ rather in combination of both ? Isn't it possible ?
