Hi all
I'm currently working with THLE2 cells. It's mentioned in the ATCC product sheet that the cells should be cultured on pre-coated (fibronectin, collagen and BSA) flasks. Will it affect the cells if they are grown in flasks without pre-coating? Could anyone help?
Hi,
many cell lines are fine when they are seeded on not coated surfaces. It is, however, likely that they will detach more easily. So you can just try it and compare to the coated flasks.
But be aware that sometimes the coating also has signaling functions, which means that not coating may lead to different expression of some proteins. It really depends on the question you want to answer.
