I am a master student, I want to work with HEK-blue cells (cells derived from transfection of hek 293 cells, these cells are developed by invivigens). According to the supplier's recommendations the HEK-blue cells should be grown in a DMEM medium with 4.5g of glucose, in our laboratory we often work with RPMI-1640 medium, this medium contains only 2g of glucose.
I want to adapt my RPMI-1640 medium to these cells by adding glucose. is this achievable? If so how and what glucose should I add?

Growing cells derived from HEK cells should be fine in RPMI without the high glucose modification. They may have a small difference in rate of proliferation but they will be viable.
Hi Ayyoub Kihel Established cell lines from ATCC have been grown in a lot of different media.
In my experience, cells obtained from ATCC are very plastic in terms of their media requirements. I am positive that your cells will grow in whatever modified ATCC media that is out there.
