Is it feasible to purchase a fraction collector system (FCS) for analytical HPLC? Since the sample collected in vials were quite low concentrations, it might be problematic for mass spectro detection, and/or NMR. FCS seems like a simple method online ongoing process, thus we can isolate the desired peak(s). On the other hand, we can do that job by hand, collecting effluent mobile phases as long as the peak appears. For time saving it seems ok. Any other opinions?

Is anyone using fraction collector analytical HPLC? Is it worth having it despite disadvantages? What are some advantages?
