In mitosis, colchicine acts as an inhibitor, where it arrests the spindle formation during metaphase so that they don't get separated during anaphase. So is it a chromosomal aberration or is it normal?
Applying colchicine on mitotic cells leads to polyploidization.
Polyploidization can occur naturally, as unreduced gametes for example, but in your case, it is a drug induced polyploidization, and can therefore be considered as an abnormality.
Thank You Olivier Catrice Sir for the response. As per your answer polyploidization is a result of application of colchicine. What I want to know here is that in such a case where from does it get secreted in the body?
