Stability is mostly substrate dependent. Sometimes reactions need to be heated for imine-product formation. I mean, if the reaction is kept under non-hydrolyzing conditions it should be stable up to a moderately high temperature. I have heated imine at 70 oC for 12 h without any decomposition.

If the reaction is well free from hydrolysis, I mean ideally assume, I wonder how much heat can affect imine stability.

I handled the few imine derivatives at 90 degree Celsius under anhydrous condition, upto 03 hours without any decomposition or breakdown. As per my experience, the anhydrous condition and neutral pH is prime requisite for handling imines at elevated temperature.

I would like to share with you that certain imines' formation may require rather drastic conditions of temperature and time like refluxing in toluene/xylene for several hours, using Dean-Stark apparatus.
