May be need some more explanation with what antigen your target vaccine react with? and in which test?. Generally speaking crossreactivity of a vaccine is against specificity. However, it might be useful if you already designed your vaccine to protect against more that one pathogen

I am trying to understand what do you mean exactly by cross-reactivity. From the Wikipedia, Cross-reactivity applies to the reaction between two different species as opposed to the self-reactivity. In chemistry it means a reaction between two different molecules. At the same time each of these molecules is able to react with the identical molecule, or as it is usually described, to react with itself. In your particular case Strep. Pneumonia has 23 serotypes that means each serotype is considered separate species as vaccination using one serotype cannot protect against the other 22 serotypes of the bacteria. Therefore, in PNEUMOVAX 23 vaccine there is no cross-reactivity between the 23 different antigenic components.
However, occasionally cross-reactivity may refer to reaction of a vaccine against antigenically different molecules. A few examples of cross-reactivity have been confirmed in humans, one of which involves influenza virus-specific CD8+ T cell and hepatitis C virus antigens. If this is the case, PNEUMOVAX 23 vaccine polysaccharides as far as I know may cross-react with related types and antibodies to some pneumococcal capsular polysaccharides may cross-react with related types as well as with other bacteria.
Yes, cross reactivity between strains is good for a vaccine such that the vaccine is able to protect not only against the vaccine strains but also against non-vaccine strains. This benefit has been demonstrated in rotavirus vaccine and pneumococcal conjugate vaccine.

I was wondering if there's a difference between cross reactivity and cross protection (which is similar to cross immunity and cross-protective immunity). Am I right thinking that cross reactivity can induce cross protection?
Moreover, would you say that the terms cross-antigenicity and cross-immunogenicity are synonyms, or sometimes used interchangeably with cross reactivity?
