Arterivenous malformation (AVM) is rare finding in brain. Sometimes retograde neuroimaging specially brain MRI and angiography can determine the diagnosis. I want to investigate the incidence rate of hemorrhagic strokes accompanied by AVM by systematic and meta analysis studies... also any cohort study in this field can help me.

Hi Ramin,,, intracranial AVM is an important cause of intracranial bleed. Annual incidence of bleeding rate of intracranial AVM around 0.9 to 4 percent. Risk factors of bleeding are previous history of bleeding, deep seated AVM, angioarcheological feature like deep single venous drainage etc.. Following article might help you.. Thanks

Haemorrhagic stroke usualy occurs when a weakened vessel ruptures. AVM is one among the weakened blood vessel. Also statisticaly studies have shown that more than 50% of AVM patients have Intracranial haemorrhage.
