I found few reports, which explain about enhancement tryptophan fluorescence of proteins . Simultaneously, there are other reports which tells that interaction of metal nanoparticles (e.g. gold and silver) showed quenching in protein fluorescence due to interaction. these creates confusion. can any one suggest any specific condition when enhancement and quenching. is there any good reference which explain about mechanism of both phenomenon.
