We are looking into use the cell line for a mouse model but I was unable to find it on ATCC or elsewhere. Are there issues with the model that I should be aware of ? If you could also suggest an alternative HPV cell line for mouse model, I would be grateful. Thank you so much !
Hi Sri - unless it is for some health and safety reason (a cell line expressing oncogenes) I don't know why it is unavailable. What about Caski or SiHa cell lines (although human)?

Thank you Maurice for your reply, all cervical cancer cell lines do have oncogenes from HPV (E6 & E7) (but then so do most cancer cell lines from ATCC) so I would think that shouldn't be a problem. I wasn't sure if SiHa and Caski could be used since I thought they will get rejected by host immune system (MHC incompatibility). My understanding was that TC-1 overcomes these issues by implanting cervical cancer in mice, which apparently is hard to do otherwise..
Sri, do you have any information on this cell line now? I was trying to find out about it and discovered ATCC actually has another line called TC-1 which is a hybrid lymphoblast/somatic line as against the the primary lung epithelial lineage. Please let me know if you've found anything. Thanks.
Hello Lanre, sorry for the delayed response, no unfortunately we weren't able to obtain it, and we decided to use other human cell lines. I think at the moment your best option is to contact the source Lab at JHU.
Can I ask which cell line did you use instead? I am looking for TC1 HPV as well, as a cervical cancer model.
Hi Faranak, we did not end up doing the mouse model, we went with in vitro systems instead.
Hi Faranak, we have used the TC-1 cell lines which I obtained as a gift from a friend´s lab. Strictly speaking this cell line is not a cervical cancer model eventhough it overexpresses HPV's E6/7 oncogenes, as well as human ras. As far as I know, this cell line generated from a murine C57B/6 lung epithelial line, thus not cervical. Regards
