Hello everybody, I would like to simulate a three phase reactor and study its hydrodynamics. I would like to know which type of software is better? I have a good command of ANSYS Fluent and I am really convenient with it but i have no experience of working with OPEN FOAM or CFX ...
Do you recommend to use another one? please let me know your opinion.

Using one or another CFD code depends pretty much on the degree of freedom you would like to have in your simulations (solvers, boundary conditions, coding), and on the technology/complexity of your three phase reactor.
To conduct a classical hydrodynamic study of your reactor, ANSYS Fluent is probably convenient, especially since you have good command of it. For mass transfer resolution, you have the possibility to use species transport for instance.
However, if your reactor's resolution requires to include a reaction, a source term or a flux condition through UDFs, I would probably recommend using OpenFOAM since you would have more freedom.

It depends on what you intend to put in and what you hope to get out of the exercise. For a complex process, such as a three-phase reactor, simply running a canned CFD code will probably not yield much meaningful information. That is, you may not learn anything more than how to run Fluent or FOAM.
Agreed with Hanane, ANSYS Fluent could be sufficient for your hydrodynamic simulation of your 3 phase reactor.
