Studying rRNA, I need a lot of it. Any one have tips on how to increase the rate of e.coli growth and/or the production of rRNA? My lab currently uses MH broth, is there another culture media that could do this for me?
Edit: My current method for growth is MH Broth @ 37 Degrees Celsius. This is ideal yes, but is there a way to grow it faster than this? Will a different media other than MH Broth help?
actually ribosomic RNA accounts for 90% or more from a total RNA extraction, you could try a good extraction kit , there are ones that make possible to extract from more starting material.
grow your ecoli in shaker at 37° if you need a real quick growth but always remember that, more than quantity of starting material, you need a log phase culture to have MORE RNA
