I am simulating a coaxial cable (copper conductors, polyethylene dielectric) using ANSYS Maxwell 2D and the AC Conduction simulation type. The inner conductor is set to a voltage of 15 kV and the outer conductor is grounded. When I compare the capacitance and conductance simulation values to analytical values, the capacitance values match but the conductance values do not. I have included the equation I am using to determine the conductance per unit length.
I replicated the same simulation using COMSOL and found that the conductance values matched. Is there something I am doing wrong? Should I be using a different solution type to accurately determine the conductance? Any help is greatly appreciated! I can provide additional information if needed.
