Research in herbal medicine has been conducted vastly and still is in Africa. Africa has been able to develop herbal/complementary medicine of various kinds, present on the market. But has Africa been able to discover and develop its own drugs, in respect to studies confirming all pharmacokinetic parameters, actula drug molecules, drug-like properties and acceptability after clinical trials? If yes, how is the progress? Advancing, stagnant? Please assist with this.
After we have done phytochemical extractions and bioactivity assays, how far are we going? Mindful of the challenge of lack of right and advanced technology and equipment ( except a few who have them).
Good efforts will be successful. Sincerity would pay in long run, India may be taken as an example
