I am looking for examples of industrial processes which are catalyzed by enzymes (either natural or recombinant). Particularly, I am interested in processes that end up with enzyme removal or inactivation (thermal or chemical), and I am trying to find examples from different areas - the food industry, textiles, pharmaceutics, fuel, etc.

In food Industries, we add enzymes in many applications. For example, we add different enzyme mixtures for clarification of apple juice (ex. pectinases, pectinmethyl esterases, cellulases, hemicellulases, laccases, and amylases ). However, in other juice types like orange juice, we apply heat treatment to deactivate the same enzymes. In different thermally treated foods such as fruits and vegetables products, producers apply heat treatment to inhibit the spoilage enzymes as well as microorganisms. We can mention many examples of these undesirable enzymes such as lipases, polyphenol oxidases, ascorbic acid oxidases, proteases and pectinases.
The industrial processes involving the production of alcoholby fermentation of molasses , we use yeast containing enzymes .
Hi Dr Dmitry Bagrov . They are used in Rennin for coagulation of milk to make cheese. Invertase from yeast and lactase in the food industry. Inactive enzymes done by boiling water is sure to inactivate most enzymes. 10 min in boiling water would be enough to inactivate most enzymes.
