Hey everyone, has anyone ever performed immunohistochemical staining followed by histochemical staining on the same histological section (like a double labeling)?
I have done immunohistochemistry and then counterstained using either haematoxylin or methyl green. Works well and helps with working out location of IHC staining
Yes, we routinely perform CD markers (ie CD3, CD68) with a PAS counterstain for renal biopsies. As long as you dont strip out the DAB or obscure it there should be no problem combining the procedures.
I have performed histochemistry first, then I used this slide for immunohistochemistry. But, stain became so dark. It's better to do both procedures in separate slides.
