For many of these there are specific dyes such as NBD C6-Ceramide (Golgi), Mitoview Red (Mitochondria), DiO perchlorate (Membrane), and DiOC6(3) (Endoplasmic reticulum).

If cells are alive and mitochondria are respiring, then TMRM can be used to tag mitochondria.
