Scientific research work in a laboratory or on the field is interesting and challenging. Working with students is a work that brings pleasure when you know that you work with young people to whom you are transferring your knowledge. Which of these two challenges would you choose?
I would choose to be a professor, I love teaching when I am in a class I do not feel like working because I love being there.
Both are extremely fascinating, nice and highly respectful, though at the moment I prefer laboratory because I prefer more practical and performance and learning more through experiences and examinations.
both are linked together. The professor must work in the lab but the technician can`t held lectures. So, Professor is better

If I am to choose one. I think I'll go for a professor. I believe in teaching/training the next generation for better future.
I would prefer to work as a professor, already in my expertise is clinical area and so appropriate for my decision.
I would choose as a Professor !!! What I like to do is interact and learn , I know lab work is exciting but it has its own limitations where as teaching - sky is the limit !! especially to learn ...
Working as a University professor is my first priority and interest.
I like to transfer my knowledge, but from time to time I need to replenish my knowledge by working in the lab.
I think both are essential for good quality and innovative learning. If I have to select only one, I would choose Professor job.
Being a professor will be good as this will afford me the opportunity to combine both the teaching and researching.

The researcher is him which investigates the unknown to transform it into knowledge. The professor is the transmitter of research knowledge. The researcher is a lonely man who lives more with his thoughts than with people around him. The professor has the students and that makes him a very social person. The work of both is great. But the researcher's job can change the world. It depends on the character of every person what he chooses to do. I personally like research. And if you do what you like, you feel free !
I agree with Prof Anastas Ivanov Ivanov that is to teach student. However I like also to do research.
I would choose to work as a Professor. Professor has a better chance to do laboratory research work, but as a laboratory researcher getting a chance to conduct lectures is a difficult task.

Contribution of professor cannot be measured in isolation .It is a very wide field & it covers a quite good areas for the students coming out from the college & in their respective areas which they can utilize for their working environment & career development also for which their knowledge & contribution can be quite fruitful for their required areas & also for the benefits & imparting knowledge for their associated members .

My suggestion is you can enjoy doing research at any age.
If you read scientific articles regularly it means you will solve at least on of the specific problem in your field. :)

Why are you putting choice to opt any one of the two "challenges"......?
A Professor has ample opportunity to do research or at least some, if not as a full timer. A researcher in a lab may have some teaching assignment at some point of time.
The lucky few have opportunity to avail both. Whatever be the role, it is our duty to do that honestly and with great commitment.

As a teacher, because I like very much my profession, and contact with young people. And, I don´t like very much enclosed spaces, a little claustrophobic, as laboratories.
