In order for cancer to spread to distant tissues, metastatic cells must enter the lymph/blood stream. However, this question rises that what will happen if we manually introduce metastatic cancer cells to a healthy body. Supposing the alien cells skip the immune system. Do we expect carcinomas in different tissues or organs?

To study metastasis, we often inject tumor cells into the blood stream of NSG (immuno compromised) mice by injection in the tail vein and follow the formation of metastases. Usually, you first see them into the lung, and if they spread you can find in the liver.
