I work in a big lab that is considering switching from IDT to Sigma to save on shipping costs. Has anybody used Sigma for ordering your oligos? What do you think about the quality of their products? I've always used IDT and been super happy with them.

during my experience in GSK/Novartis Vaccines i ordered a large amount of oligos from both Sigma and Invitrogen.
Sigma is more cheaper and little bit slower that Thermo but the quality of oligos was ever satysfing from both those supplier for my point of view.

I used Sigma for many years, but had a few issues - when raised, they replaced the faulty oligo. But I switched to IDT after it was suggested that not only was IDT cheaper (it was for us then), but their QC was more sensitive and could detect lower levels of contamination. I was told to look out for certain incorrect base combinations that have a very small mass difference... can't remember off the top of my head. Anyway, I had designed a 3'RACE oligo, with a string of 'T's followed by an adapter sequence, ordered from Sigma. Most of the clones had a weird base within the string of 'T's. It didn't interfer with this experiment, but I switched to IDT. I've found them good since.
As a company we have had issues with IDT concerning the roll out for direct sales into NZ - left a very bitter taste for many NZ researchers. But their products are great.
I have never had any issues with Sigma oligos, we used both IDT and Sigma, I do believe IDT had better quality oligos overall.
