Hi everyone. So I need to measure different cytokines in mouse spinal cord tissue and I can not decide which method is the best one, a cytokine array or ELISA. Does anyone that has experience in both can give a brief pros and cons for each method please?

There is hardly any difference in output of either method. But let me tell you, CBA is better because you will have to process sample once and analyse upto 17 (or more) cytokine from one sample (20-50 uL sample), while in ELISA you may need 50 uL sample for each cytokine ELISA. Prefer CBA if you have less amount of sample.
CBA is much sensitive than ELISA, so if cytokin levels of your interest are expected to be very low concetration, go for CBA.
There is another method, which is much sensitive and reliable for minimal concentrations (which are expected to be below detection range of ELISA or CBA), Go for Luminex (if you have access to the platform). By Luminex you may measure up to 100 cytokines in one sample (20 uL).
