Biotherapeutics and nutritional biotherapy have become important to reverse global chronic diseases. The role of Indian spices and biotherapeutics in health and chronic disease has become of major interest to the developed and developing world. Biotherapeutics that involves Indian spice therapy requires assessment with relevance to insulin therapy, immunotherapy, antimicrobial therapy and drug therapeutics. Research studies are now underway to assess the role of Indian spices on microbiota such as gram negative and gram positive bacteria with relevance to the pathogenesis of chronic diseases. Gram negative bacteria release bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS) into the plasma and brain. LPS is toxic and the role of Indian spices on gram negative bacteria need to be assessed to reduce plasma LPS levels and the severity of neurodegenerative diseases.
