Really I am looking for a way to delay closure of micropyle in rainbow trout egg after insemination and try internal disinfection with some Iodophore compounds .
The process of closure of micropyle in trout eggs starts immediately after insemination. It will progress with distending and hardening of zone radiate which has duration up to 1-3 hours depending on the environment. You can try to delay these postinsemination processes by transfer of eggs into saline water, e.g. with concentration of about 10 g/L for a 10-15 minutes (I would not recommend longer exposition to avoid mortality or abnormalities). But I did not observe the status of micropyle during my experiments (1983-1985) therefore I cannot guarantee that you achieve desired result. Therefore, I recommend you to conduct some experiments with various salinities in order to establish whether salinity factor will help you to delay closure of micropyle. Based on my experience you can test salinities between 8-20 g/L created by dissolving NaCL.
