Both of the answers above are reasonable, but I'd make the suggestion that if you wanted to produce very low oil dilution, it is probably better to make an intermediate dilution (say 1 /100) first, and then a second down to the concentration range you want to work with (e.g, another 1/ 10 or a final concentration of 1/1000 or 0.1% v/v). In this way - if you choose your best measuring cylinders or pipettes, you will minimise errors in production – it can be very hard to pipette a small volume liquid accurately, especially if they are viscous or hydrophobic (you could of course look at this mathematically to decide which procedure is likely to result in the lowest combined errors).
@Andrew J Spiers. I am working with Moringa oil and Rosemary oil, I want to make 1:1, 1:5, 1:10 and 1:20 concentration of these oils with DMSO with the following values 10ml of DMSO and 60ml for each essential oil.
Can you tell me the procedure for that, and how much should I take from each essential oil when doing agar well diffusion assay?
