I am afraid i would disaggree about the above statetement, as I enjoy interaction with scientists / researches in various fields all over the world. Without existence of RG, this could have not happened. I feel the time spend with every single members and their priceless works are QUALITY time.

I am glad that you have different thinking. So according to this, there is no "danger" for us scientists/researches , so we can continue with our fellowship.
When we talk regarding the friendship we should not divert our mind only in our activities of RG . RG is the part of the program of our mind ,intelligence, brain which may help us to divert our knowledge to the other members .
Our activities for RG we should not become addiction for our program & as such the word contagious should come in the way of our knowledge . For our friends we have to mark our friendship both in relation & for other friend in need is a friend indeed .
I think for some people there is a tendency to become caught up in forum activity, whatever format that may take, and we do have to be careful not to divert too much time(assuming we have it!).
However, the other side of this is the links we forge here, and the ways in which we can add to others work.
Firstly RG is not a platform for friendship and very much unlike other so-called social media where "friend"ship/followership can be made, continued, intensified including all possibilities of making "unfriend" or "unfollow" a friend/person.
It is, rather, a forum to share, interact, debate, comment on some selective issues depending on interest of individual RG members. In course of time, some informal groups having common interest may be formed.
Regarding its contagiousness or power of taking away free hours from us, all I can say that I beg to differ from this kind of straightway statement. It depends more on our way of managing time towards using this group and doing things positively rather than to passing time aimlessly without any focussed goal.
I am very happy to be in RG. It's the only place I enjoy hanging out in social media. I'm interacting scientists from all over the world. It makes me happy, too.
For me, research gate could be defined as a platform where we can question about any issue and get answers of what we were been searching for years. I wonder to read about "those" who have deleted their profile.
The recognition of researchers is an important achievement in the field of research as well as the exchange of experiences with others and the development of research capacity
There is no danger if you do not overindulge. Just like you can be a social drinker and bot become an alcoholic, you can spend your time wisely in RG, gain knowledge by interaction with colleagues and sharing and not exhibit symptoms of addiction.
Actually the format of RG is as bad as FB. That’s why I don’t use FB. If RG is really concerned about research it should stop the scoring and encourage really meaningful discussions. Non-scientific questions are being asked just to increase the RG score.
A really exciting idea I believe that the results of relations depend on our commitment to honesty, mutual trust, positive thinking and dedication to the values that make man and lead him to the best always
Every person is entitled to his or her own opinion. I guess this is just a mere obsession by the observer. Those who fancy the interaction will continue while those are opposed to it will discontinue.
RG gives us too much for our existence and professional development to be criticized. Of course, the same as with virtual Internet deals, everybody should impose himself reasonable limits...
Thanks to all of you who dedicate part of your free time to my question. Your various answers stimulate my thinking on the subject. I'm glad to get information from people from different countries of the world.
I use RG an hour in the evening, between news and some evening movie. I don't think that I am addicted, easily can let it go for even weeks, if I am in different situations, e.g. travelling.
Thanks for all your answers and all your tips. I hope this is useful not only for me, but for all others who follow my questions. By "socializing with you within the question" now I really have a different sense of the topic we are discussing.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I am glad that in these warm days I have kept your attention to my questions. I will not argue with you all about your answers because I respect every opinion, I will just give you a big thank you. Greetings from me to all of you
