R is very nice, although it takes some getting used to: http://www.r-project.org/

There is a lot of support/add-ons and good literature on it as well.

R is very nice indeed, and using the R Commander by operating the command install.packages(Rcmdr) makes it fairly accessible.

You will have some pre-built commands e.g. for data import, data manipulations graphs, regressions, statistical tests, much as for other commercial sotware packages, only not that polished.

R is a good tool for your requirement. But you need simple programming.

Whereas you can also try with softwares like 'unistat', 'xlstat' which will be useful for statistical tests & easy to handle.

SPSS would be usEfull, but it cost a bit,I THINK

Try a software named Statistica 6 or 8 from Statsoft co. , I think it would be beneficial.

R statistical software is the best, but is a bit difficult to learn though.

Plz. go to www.graphpad.com you will get free version./ use some period. It is very easy to work with graphpad.
