My research results have no significant main effect; however the mean scores do show a difference. I do not know how to report the findings; for example do I say that there was no main significant effect but mean scores show that they leaned more to (one angle) how do i reject the hypotheses? do i just say that the hypotheses is not supported by the findings

Hi thank you for your reply, I did a repeated measures experiment to compare psychophysical measures in a high intensity spinning class with the use of audio and visual aids. I used ANOVA to determine main effect.
Hmm..., unfortunately repeated measures is not exactly my field of expertise, but I found one tutorial (see link bellow) for statistical evaluation of such type of experiments by using MS Excel with examples, and I hope it help you to ground more precise conclusions from the conducted research. Could you elaborate on your design and analysis? How many repeated measures, did you perform repeated measures ANOVA etc?

I think that idea of testing of statistical significance should encourage us to report it more or less in style: differences were not statistically significant. It may be understood that assuming the size of the sample and, of course, the correctness of the analysis - the result, and more specifically, the difference in means, we should treat it as completely random and having little chance of replication. Of course, you can use the power of the effect, but the application should be the same.

The repeated measurement is very important and is influenced by the model used in the design of the experiment ,as well as the hypothesis of the study .. Therefore must choose the appropriate analysis (multi-variables MANOVA, split plot in time Design)
